Soros & Islamophobia

For some time now, I have been warning about the alliance between the left and radical Islamists. Almost nothing unites these two disparate groups except for their hatred of Judeo-Christian values and Israel. But as is so often the case with the left, it doesn't take long to discover a link to George Soros.

One of the greatest frustrations of recent years has been the smothering influence of political correctness, especially when it comes to critical matters like counterterrorism and fighting radical Islam. New information, however, indicates this is not just the result of naive liberals.

Documents from Soros' Open Society Foundation were hacked and recently published online. Among them is a January 2011 memo entitled, "U.S. Models for Combating Xenophobia and Intolerance." That may sound innocent enough, but the title is very deceptive.

As Matthew Vadum explains, "The memo is also a character assassination roadmap that enlists the assistance of disreputable left-wing groups including Media Matters for America, Muslim Public Affairs Council, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. . . The 2011 strategy memo is a template for a well-funded smear campaign against critics of Islam."

Once again, we see that the left is not interested in a reasoned, rational debate about radical Islam. It refuses to even utter the very words.

Instead, it dismisses the obvious threats of mass shootings, suicide bombings and random stabbings as "Islamophobia," while telling us the real danger is climate change. This is delusional!

And George Soros is behind it all -- funding the effort led by the left-wing Center for American Progress (CAP). The Center for American Progress was founded by John Podesta, former White House Chief of Staff under Bill Clinton.

Thanks to Soros' largesse, CAP has produced reports attacking leading conservatives, including me, who dare to speak out against radical Islam. A CAP report released last year includes a chapter headlined: "Islamophobia Masquerading as Law Enforcement Counterterrorism Training."

The radical left is using political correctness to take America hostage. It is trying to gag us and blind us, trying to shut down debate and prevent us from seeing reality. It is threatening our national security by ensuring that we do not have a serious conversation about doing what is necessary to defeat this growing threat to Western Civilization.

Gender Confusion On Campus

Monday I reported that a federal court had blocked enforcement of Obama's transgender bathroom mandate in the public schools. Unfortunately, that's not stopping the radicals from spreading their gender confusion on our college campuses.

For example, 29,000 students at West Virginia University are getting some remedial grammar lessons this year. Apparently, normal pronouns like he/she, him/her, his/hers are offensive.

Thanks to the radical left, we now have: Zim, ve, vis, hirs and a bunch more nonsense. The university has provided students with a chart "for using pronouns respectfully," and is encouraging them to practice their use in order to avoid offending someone's gender identity. The chart reads like words randomly plucked from the pages of a Dr. Seuss book.

This is beyond bizarre! Worse, it is taking place at a so-called "institution of higher learning" that is funded by your tax dollars!

Thirty-one years ago today, August 24, 1985, in an address to the nation Ronald Reagan said:

"Few things could be more central to the life and health of our nation than the education of our children. Our schools hold the future of America in their hands. They will decide whether that future is enlightened, free, and informed, or shrouded in the darkness of ignorance."

My friends, the left's intolerance for normalcy and the traditional values of this country is a shroud of ignorance, and it must be resisted.

Those of you in West Virginia, alumni of the university or parents with children attending the school, please make your voices heard. Click here to find contact information for the president's office.

Identity Politics Over Performance

The Olympics are supposed to be a model of meritocracy -- the pinnacle of sports talent. Olympism, the Olympic Charter states, "seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles."

Those principles were featured prominently throughout this year's Games. Unfortunately, some in the media didn't seem to notice. You can read more in my latest column at The Daily Caller.
