Unicorn Fantasies

Secretary of State John Kerry testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee today in defense of President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran. In response to tough questions from Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) and ranking member Eliot Engel (D-NY), Kerry insisted that there was no better option.

"Let me underscore: the alternative to the deal we've reached isn't a better deal. . . some kind of unicorn fantasy that contemplates Iran's complete capitulation," Kerry insisted.

Kerry later said, "This plan was designed to address the nuclear issue alone, not to reform Iran's regime, or end its support for terrorism or its contributions to sectarian violence in the Middle East."

There it is, my friends. The Obama Administration is claiming that the critics of the deal want a war. Yet Kerry is confessing that the Iranian regime will continue to wage war throughout the Middle East, and it will do it with $150 billion of sanctions relief we are providing!

TAKE ACTION: Your elected members of Congress are evaluating President Obama's nuclear deal right now. They need to hear from their constituents. Call the Capitol Hill switchboard at 202-224-3121 and urge them to oppose the Iran nuclear deal.

Huckabee & The Holocaust

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is getting lambasted for his critique of Obama's nuclear deal with Iran. In a comparison to the Holocaust, Huckabee said the deal is so bad that Obama may as well "take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven."

Holocaust comparisons are always risky. The Holocaust was uniquely evil and demonic. And the left lost no time in attacking Huckabee for daring to make such a comparison.

President Obama attacked Huckabee from Ethiopia, calling his remarks "ridiculous." MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski said she was "horrified" by Huckabee's comments, adding "It should be over for him. You don't say that."

Now there is an individual, in fact a whole nation of people, who raises the Holocaust all the time. That nation is the Islamic Republic of Iran and it is led by people like Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. They don't just compare something to the Holocaust -- they promise a second Holocaust while they hold conferences denying the first one took place.

Obama simultaneously ignores Khamenei's promises to destroy Israel and explains them away as just rhetoric.

This deal gives the Iranian regime the means of doing what it has often threatened to do -- repeat the Holocaust. Huckabee's words did not hurt anyone. Iran's bombs threaten millions. Iran won't have to march Israelis to the doors of the ovens -- it can bring the ovens to them in a nuclear attack that would kill in 10 minutes as many Jews as Hitler murdered in ten years.

Another Planned Parenthood Video

Another undercover video exposing Planned Parenthood's trafficking in baby body parts was released this morning. A former "procurement technician" describes how she passed out on the first day of her new job. "I thought I was going to be just drawing blood, not procuring tissue from aborted fetuses," Holly O'Donnell said.

According to O'Donnell, procurement technicians were essentially paid bonuses based on the kind of tissue they could recover from the remains of aborted babies. The video also features a Planned Parenthood executive referring to their tissue pricing scheme, saying, "I think a per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it."

Planned Parenthood insists that it is not profiting from the sale of aborted body parts. That is illegal under federal law. The organization says it is merely recovering costs. But as several commentators have pointed out, the group charges to perform abortions. So exactly what costs are being recouped by the sale of tissue?

This is a why a congressional investigation is so urgently needed. It's also another reason why the American people shouldn't be forced to subsidize this billion-dollar industry of death.

By the way, whatever you think of the Confederate flag today, Sarah Palin is getting a lot of attention for a recent Facebook post comparing that symbol to Planned Parenthood's predatory abortion practices. Palin asks, "Which symbol killed 90,000 black babies last year?"

House Leaders Demand Accountability At IRS

Last week we reported on new information in the IRS Tea Party targeting scandal. Now leading House members are calling on IRS Commissioner John Koskinen to step down or face impeachment.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, sent a 29-page letter to President Obama demanding Koskinen be fired. According to Rep. Chaffetz, the IRS chief gave false testimony to Congress and obstructed its investigation into the Tea Party targeting scandal.

At a press conference yesterday, Chaffetz said, "Mr. Koskinen failed to testify truthfully. The statements that he made to Congress were false. It is imperative that this committee pursue all constitutional remedies. That may include contempt and it even may include impeachment of Mr. Koskinen."

In a Wall Street Journal editorial today, Reps. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Jim Jordan (R-OH), key members of the Oversight and Government Reform committee, lay out the case against Mr. Koskinen, concluding:

"If the president doesn't remove Mr. Koskinen from his post, then Congress should remove him through impeachment. . . . John Koskinen has violated the public trust, breached his fiduciary obligations and demonstrated his unfitness to serve. Mr. President, it's time for Commissioner Koskinen to go. If you don't act, we will."
