The eyes of the nation are focused on the primary races in California tomorrow. The state has an open primary system where everyone runs on one ballot. The top two finishers, regardless of party, advance to the general election. It’s possible to have a general election between two Democrats, which is a real possibility according to the polls. The latest poll finds former Biden Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra (D) leading the race for governor at 28%, followed by Democrat Tom Steyer at 22% and Republican Steve Hilton at 21%.
