On The Brink
Minnesota is on the brink of chaos and devolving into anarchy after another attack last night on federal immigration police.
Yesterday, a federal immigration police officer attempted to arrest an illegal alien in Minneapolis. The man resisted with the help of two other thugs. They attacked the federal police officer with a shovel and a broom handle. Fearing for his life or losing control of his gun, the officer fired and hit one of the men in the leg.
Did local officials praise the bravery of this federal officer, who risked his life to make the streets of Minneapolis safe? No. Both Governor Walz and Mayor Frey launched another slanderous attack on immigration police. With that encouragement from Democrat leaders, rioting in Minneapolis immediately accelerated, putting more lives at risk.
In a statewide address last night, Governor Walz accused federal immigration police of committing “atrocities,” engaging in “organized brutality,” and inflicting “trauma” on the people of Minnesota. He urged Minnesotans to continue harassing and obstructing federal agents. Walz also said this:
“And if you see ICE in your neighborhood, take out that phone and hit record. Help us create a database of the atrocities against Minnesotans – not just to establish a record for posterity, but to bank evidence for future prosecution.”
Once again, the socialist Democrats are making it absolutely clear that they intend to prosecute federal immigration officers for doing the job they have a duty to do.
Democrats want open borders, and they want criminal illegal aliens on our streets and federal immigration police in jail. They see the expulsion of each illegal alien as the loss of a future Democrat voter.
Gov. Walz and Mayor Frey are getting very close to their Fort Sumter moment. Once they hit it, there is no going back.
Trump Responds
President Trump is losing patience. On Truth Social, Trump declared:
“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State.”
By invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807, the president can deploy the U.S. military to reestablish order. The Insurrection Act has been invoked 30 times in our nation’s history. In recent decades:
- President Dwight Eisenhower invoked the Insurrection Act to deploy the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock, Arkansas, to enforce school integration.
- President John F. Kennedy invoked the act three times essentially for the same reason.
- President Lyndon Johnson invoked the act twice to stop rioting, including deploying the 82nd Airborne Division and 13,000 federal troops to Washington, D.C. (Read that again. LBJ deployed 13,000 troops to D.C.! Did anyone call him Hitler?)
- President George H.W. Bush invoked the act twice to stop rioting in the Virgin Islands after a hurricane and to restore order in the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
This is an insurrection. Federal officials are being harassed and violently attacked. Massive law enforcement resources are being diverted to deal with leftist rioters, resulting in far fewer arrests of illegal aliens than would otherwise occur.
The forces behind this resistance are foreign enemies of the United States and domestic enemies of the United States—homegrown Marxists, anarchists, and nihilists.
It is possible these revolutionaries want President Trump to declare an insurrection. They may believe it would hasten the moment they desire, which is civil war and/or the conditions they believe will lead to them taking control of the Congress and electing a far-left president in 2028.
But if the Left gets away with these tactics in Minnesota, there’s no doubt they will use them in other left-wing cities until it becomes impossible to not assert the Insurrection Act.
So, once again, the president has to make a decision that would make other presidents wilt, go into a corner, and suck on their tie. Donald Trump is not that president. He will act.
More Dangerous Rhetoric
Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) used insurrectionist language on MS NOW. She said:
“There’s no way in hell I’m voting to give one cent to Trump and Kristi Noem’s ICE. I won’t send one penny to these people who are terrorizing the people of Minnesota . . . The path that we are traveling certainly reminds me of many of the images that we saw in the 1930s in Germany. . . And right now, nothing should be off the table.”
More “Trump is Hitler” rhetoric and federal immigration police are “Nazis.” That’s bad enough. But you can’t get any clearer than her last line: “Nothing should be off the table.”
She’s not talking about lawsuits. Democrats have tried that, and they usually lose. She doesn’t mean peaceful demonstrations. Democrats have done that, and it hasn't changed anything.
Democrats tried to make the case that open borders were good during the 2024 campaign. They were rejected by the American people. So, elections don't work for them because the people won’t vote for their radical agenda. So much for “saving our democracy.”
What Rep. Craig means when she says, “Nothing should be off the table” is violence. She’s inviting more assassinations, more violence, and more people dying.
That kind of rhetoric is what led to the murder of Charlie Kirk. His assassin etched “Hey fascist! Catch!” on one bullet casing.
This demonizing language has caused at least two attempted assassinations against Donald Trump, and there has likely been more.
That kind of language led a transgender extremist in California to travel all the way across the country to try to murder conservative Supreme Court justices. The Left’s hate is why the court’s conservatives now need more police protection than ever in the history of our country.
Democrat Reality Deniers
The Left’s arrogance and extremism were on full display yesterday in the U.S. Senate. Dr. Nisha Verma had been called as an “expert witness” by Democrats for a hearing. Sen. Josh Hawley had a few simple questions he wanted to ask Dr. Verma to confirm she was a medical expert.
“Can men get pregnant?” Hawley asked. Dr. Verma replied, “I’m not really sure what the goal of the question is.”
“The goal is the truth and to establish a biological reality,” Hawley said. “So, can men get pregnant?” Dr. Verma wouldn’t answer.
Sen. Hawley tried again, saying, “You testified a moment ago science and evidence should control medicine, not politics. Do science and evidence tell us that biological men can get pregnant?”
Dr. Verma answered, “I think ‘yes and no’ questions like this are a political tool.”
Hawley shot back, “Yes and no questions are about the truth, doctor. . . This isn’t hard, doctor. Can men get pregnant? Yes or no?” Again, Dr. Verma refused to answer.
Kudos to Sen. Hawley for exposing the Left’s arrogance and extremism. But this demonstrates that the trans fight is far from over. The Left never gives up. It doubles down and ratchets up its tactics.
The Left still dominates all the medical associations. Right now, medical schools are teaching this nonsense to aspiring young doctors. Every Democrat state refuses to stop “doctors” from sterilizing and mutilating children.
In thousands of classrooms in Democrat states, and even in some Republican states, little children are being taught to believe this insanity. There is an effort to recruit children into what I believe is a Satan-inspired phenomenon that denies the reality of God’s creation of men and women made in His image.
If somebody at the time had asked God how many genders are there, He wouldn’t be confused. He wouldn’t need to grab a biology textbook. God created us “man” and “woman.”
A Critical Issue
Sometimes people say to me, “Gary, I’m with you, but this trans nonsense is not the biggest issue facing the country.” Yes, but it is nonetheless extremely important. In its own way, it’s one of the biggest symptoms of the evil that is facing the country.
Some leftists like to call themselves “progressives.” What does that mean? When something progresses, it goes further along the way. When a car progresses, it leaves things behind and moves to new places.
The Left wants to “progress” past not only the Judeo-Christian foundations of our nation but also past reality. They want to “progress” past truth. They see themselves as gods who can determine reality and truth.
In George Orwell’s 1984, the totalitarian regime tortures the protagonist until he will say “2 + 2 = 5.” Forcing people to lie and accept lies was central to their ability to keep power.
That’s why the trans movement punishes people who refuse to lie by calling a man “her” and a boy “she.” It is important for the Left to force everybody to kneel to this insanity. If they can make us kneel on this, they can make us kneel on anything.
This is the biggest attack on reality and truth there is.
