Praying With The President

Yesterday, I was blessed to join a small group of Christians for a private meeting in the Oval Office with the president of the United States. We were there at a time when the president is carrying the heaviest burden any president has to endure—entrusting the lives of our brave men and women in uniform in a military conflict to protect the United States of America.

Throughout our history, whenever a conflict began, both political parties rallied together in support of our troops and our country. Sometimes that unity would fray as a war continued. But in the beginning at least, everyone is united.

Sadly, that is not the case today. It’s outrageous that Democrat leaders are undercutting the president and our men and women in uniform every chance they get. House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries publicly predicted we will lose this conflict against Iran.

I never thought in all my years in Washington, D.C., I would ever see anything like that. If you disagree with the president’s decision, that’s fine. But don’t demoralize our troops and encourage our enemies.

While in the Oval Office, I reminded my colleagues that 250 years ago this month, as war with the British empire became inevitable, the Continental Congress called the nation to prayer and fasting. Here is what our Founding Fathers asked our heavenly Father:

“May it please the Lord of Hosts, the God of Armies, to animate our officers and soldiers with invincible fortitude, to guard and protect them in the day of battle, and to crown the continental arms, by sea and land, with victory and success.”

Please join me in praying for our troops, for President Trump, and for America.

Day Seven

The Washington Post reports that Russia is providing Iran with information to help them target U.S. forces in the Middle East. Analysts say Russia’s intelligence likely played a role in the Iranian attack Sunday that killed six U.S. soldiers in Kuwait.

Nevertheless, the joint U.S.-Israeli campaign has nearly crippled Iran’s ability to threaten American interests. We’ve sunk 30 of their ships and so degraded their military assets that “Iran’s ballistic missile attacks had decreased by 90% since the first day of the war, while drone attacks had decreased by 83%.” We have done this by destroying many of Iran’s high-tech missile launchers.

Responding to reports that Iranian intelligence officials are attempting to negotiate a ceasefire, President Trump declared this morning, “There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”

The president also said the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to be the next supreme leader was unacceptable. There are now confirmed reports that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is in fact attempting to impose Khamenei on the Assembly of Experts, indicating some emerging fissures within the regime.

We’re also learning more about the extensive lengths Israeli and American officials went to deceive Iran on the timing of the strikes. In the 48 hours leading up to the attack, President Trump repeatedly spoke about a preference for a negotiated solution and suggested his timeline for strikes was roughly two weeks away before they actually happened.

Meanwhile, in Israel, top military leaders were seen leaving the Ministry of Defense and going home for Shabbat dinners on Friday, February 27th. But late in the evening, they secretly returned to the Ministry of Defense in private cars, leaving their official government vehicles at home.

The Iranians were so convinced no attack was imminent that Ayatollah Khamenei was killed before he sought refuge in the leadership bunker.

Once Israeli intelligence was certain that Khamenei would be attending a meeting with dozens of senior leaders, the decision to strike was made. The supreme leader’s compound was hit by several Blue Sparrow missiles. These missiles are launched from fighter jets, travel to the edge of space, and then slam into the target at extreme speeds.

It seems fitting that a man who has so much blood on his hands and who would like to see every Christian and Jew in the world murdered by the Mahdi was taken out by a missile from “heaven.”

Democrats In Denial

The House of Representatives voted on a very simple resolution yesterday. It just reaffirmed what has been U.S. policy for decades—that Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.

Every Republican voted for the resolution, and it should have been a unanimous vote. But 55 Democrats, a quarter of the House Democrat caucus, could not bring themselves to vote yes. Fifty-three voted no, and two cowards voted “present.”

About That Jobs Report. . .

Democrats and their left-wing media allies are having a field day with today’s unemployment report. The headline, which is all most people will read, is that the economy lost 92,000 jobs in February. Now, here’s what the Democrats and the media won’t tell you.

  • In February, many parts of the country experienced bitterly cold temperatures with significant snow and ice. That had a major impact on construction jobs, but those jobs will come back as the weather improves.
  • 30,000 jobs were “lost” due to a major strike by healthcare workers. That strike ended days ago, so those jobs are already back.
  • 10,000 federal government jobs were cut, which is saving taxpayer dollars.

One economist summarized the February jobs report as “a perfect storm of temporary drags coming together following a [strong report] in January.”

In my latest Defending Faith, Family, & Freedom podcast for the James Dobson Family Institute, I examine the brutal history and apocalyptic theology behind the current conflict with Iran.
