More Winning

In a 6 to 3 decision along ideological lines, the Supreme Court just lifted a federal district court injunction blocking the Trump administration of reorganizing the Department of Education.

Today's decision means the administration can proceed to fire half of the department's staff and continue working to shut down the department entirely.

Heads Should Roll

Two reports were just released on the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. No American should be satisfied by either report, as both describe an unbelievable degree of incompetence and negligence bordering on malfeasance.

One report came from the Government Accountability Office at the request of Senator Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“One year ago, a series of bad decisions and bureaucratic handicaps led to one of the most shocking moments in political history. The Secret Service’s failure on July 13th was the culmination of years of mismanagement,” Sen. Grassley said.

The other report came from the Senate Homeland Security Committee, led by Senator Rand Paul, who said:

“What happened in Butler, Pennsylvania, was not just a tragedy—it was a scandal. The United States Secret Service failed to act on credible intelligence, failed to coordinate with local law enforcement, and failed to prevent an attack that nearly took the life of a then-former president.

“Despite those failures, no one has been fired. . . That’s unacceptable. This was not a single lapse in judgment. It was a complete breakdown of security at every level. . . We must hold individuals accountable and ensure reforms are fully implemented so this never happens again.”

Key Findings

Here are the highlights from both reports.

  • Ten days before the Butler rally, high-level USSS officials were briefed on an Iranian plot against President Trump. That information was not shared with Trump’s security detail.
  • The Butler rally was understaffed by the Secret Service, which claimed Trump was given the same protection that former presidents usually receive. Except Trump wasn’t your “usual former president.” Donald Trump was the main competitor to Joe Biden, and he was receiving (and continues to receive) more death threats than anyone else in politics.
  • Trump’s Secret Service detail was short-staffed because Jill Biden was also attending an event in Pennsylvania that day and she received presidential-level security. Did the Secret Service think Jill was really president?
  • The Trump campaign repeatedly requested additional security but was denied. As a result of being understaffed, the Secret Service had to shrink the “perimeter of protection.” That put the building most likely to be used by an assassin outside of the protection zone.
  • The agent assigned to review risks and vulnerabilities at the rally site was new. She had never done a site review before. Why was she assigned to this event?
  • The wannabe assassin flew a drone over the rally site for surveillance. The Secret Service’s drone equipment malfunctioned, and the agent assigned to operate it had been trained for only one hour.
  • Local police identified the assassin as a suspicious individual more than an hour before the shooting. The Secret Service identified him 20 minutes before the shooting, yet no one told the Trump staff to not allow the president to go on stage until it was safe.

These are simply being called “unacceptable” mistakes. I’m skeptical. The Secret Service is supposed to be the premier protective service in the world. And we have this shocking series of serious mistakes?

On that fateful day, Thomas Crooks went to the Butler rally site with one main goal: To blow Donald Trump’s head off on national TV. The Secret Service has one goal: To make sure that never happens.

Yet a 20-year-old nursing home dietary aide outsmarted the Secret Service? Is that really believable?

What They’re Defending

Virtually every headline about last week’s big immigration enforcement operation in California made it sound like “fascist” immigration police were “raiding” farms, hauling away good people picking grapes for your wine or lettuce for your salad. That narrative did not resemble reality.

As we learned this weekend, 361 illegal aliens were arrested at these two marijuana farms, and 14 children were rescued from illegal child labor and who knows what else. Here are a few of the people our immigration police took off the streets:

  • Roman Izquierdo—an illegal alien from Mexico—who has been convicted of kidnapping, attempted rape, and attempted child molestation.

  • Juan Duarte-Velasquez—an illegal alien from Mexico—who has been convicted of rape and a DUI.

  • Jose Orellana—an illegal alien from El Salvador—who has been convicted of a DUI and a hit-and-run with property damage.
  • Adriana Gonzalez-Gonzalez—an illegal alien from Mexico—who has been convicted three times for burglary and a DUI.

As immigration police attempted to leave the farms with those they apprehended, there was a violent confrontation. More than 500 protesters blocked roads, damaged vehicles, and interfere with the federal agents. President Trump has had enough.

He ordered Department of Homeland Security officials to “instruct all [immigration police], Homeland Security, or any other Law Enforcement Officer who is on the receiving end of thrown rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault, to stop their car, and arrest these SLIMEBALLS, using whatever means is necessary to do so.”

More than 500,000 unaccompanied children entered the country under Joe Biden. His administration “lost” 300,000 of them. They failed to vet the people they turned the children over to. They knew they were likely giving these children to gangs and human traffickers for exactly the kind of work that was going on at these marijuana farms and worse.

Donald Trump just found 14 of them. Decent people are applauding him for that. Democrats condemning Trump for these immigration enforcement actions should be ashamed of themselves for siding with gangs and human traffickers.

It’s Intentional

It’s not enough that leading Democrats are stoking violence against our immigration police. They are intentionally using rhetoric that they know will lead to violence. But they have made a decision that this is how they can ultimately win.

When Governor Gavin Newsom found out that Vice President Vance and his family are visiting California, the governor does his best to ruin the trip and put Vance’s family in danger.

While the Vance family was at Disneyland, Newsom posted on X, “Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t.” Roughly 150 protesters, some waving Mexican flags, showed up at Disneyland to harass Vance and his family.

Crockett Goes Crazy

Democrat Jasmine Crockett of Texas is a rising star in her party. Her combative style and unhinged comments are attracting a wide following among the radical left.

In fact, if the two-term congresswoman wants it, the 2026 Democrat Senate nomination in Texas is hers for the taking. Polling shows she holds a wide lead over other Democrat candidates, including Colin Allred, Beto O’Rourke, and Rep. Joaquin Castro. They are all so “yesterday,” compared to the new crazy Crockett.

Crockett raised a lot of eyebrows for her recent remarks about political violence. Appearing on a left-wing podcast, Crockett said:

“Violence doesn’t come from Democrats, just to be clear. Obviously, anyone can be a criminal. But it is MAGA. It is specifically the MAGA faction.”

MAGA supporters are not violently attacking immigration police

MAGA supporters are not violently attacking pro-life organizations.

MAGA supporters are not violently attacking conservative rallies.

MAGA supporters are not violently attacking Republican congressmen.

MAGA supporters are not violently attacking Jewish college students.

MAGA supporters are not calling for violence and “blood in the streets.”

Democrat Despair

Well, that’s it, folks. Our foreign policy is wrecked, obliterated, and decimated. No one saw it coming. PBS talking head Jonathan Capehart summed it up better than I can. He said:

“It’s shameful what happened today. . . generations worth of relationships, expertise, knowledge, just the basis of American foreign policy. We spent generations building it, decades building it, and gone in an afternoon.”

Oh, my. That sounds very serious. What happened? A terrorist bombing? A surprise attack? A mass shooting? No. Nothing like that.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio laid off 1,300 of the State Department’s 77,000 employees. Oh, the horror!
