Putting Americans Last

The Biden Administration is attempting to extort members of Congress and, in the process, it is putting Americans last yet again. Biden is tying more war funding for Ukraine to desperately needed disaster relief for Americans.

The reason is simple: He wants to make it impossible for members of Congress to vote “no” on the extra Ukraine money. We’ll see if Speaker Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans can stop it. But, sadly, some Senate Republicans don’t want to stop it.

News broke late last week that FEMA was facing a severe budget crunch and had begun to restrict how it distributes aid money – just as Maui was devastated by wildfires and as Hurricane Idalia smashed through Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.

President Biden sent a $40 billion emergency funding bill to Capitol Hill, but he’s requesting twice as much money for Ukraine ($24 billion) than he is for FEMA ($12 billion.) When asked whether there was any chance he would support dividing the legislation, Biden answered, “None.”

Florida Senator Rick Scott is furious. He blasted the Biden White House, saying, “We can’t let Washington play games with disaster relief funds or make helping Americans contingent on helping foreign causes.” Scott is right!

Meanwhile, American communities get the back of Joe’s hand. Biden was asked Saturday why he has yet to visit East Palestine, Ohio. Our “vacationer-in-chief,” who has spent 40% of his presidency at the beach or away from the White House, had the audacity to claim, “I haven’t had the occasion to go.”

All of this comes against the backdrop of news that Ukrainian President Zelensky has fired his defense minister because he was implicated in corruption. And he’s not the only one. Dozens of Ukrainian officials have been fired or prosecuted for corruption.

According to the New York Times, “about $980 million in weapons contracts had missed their delivery dates, according to government figures, and some prepayments for weapons had vanished into overseas accounts of weapons dealers.”

Polling shows that most Americans have had enough of this no-win war in Ukraine, and that’s why Biden is holding disaster relief for Americans hostage to more war funding.

Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy are in favor of starting negotiations that will stop the suffering in Ukraine and lessen the chances of a nuclear conflict with Russia. Between them, they command 82% of the Republican primary vote. 

The other candidates are arguing for more war – a position that has been overwhelmingly rejected by the GOP grassroots. It is also a position that could reelect Biden.

China Infiltrating U.S. Bases

Several months ago, we told you about Chinese nationals disguised as tourists who were busted trying to gain access to U.S. military bases in Alaska. They weren’t innocent mistakes.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the FBI and the Pentagon are tracking as many as 100 attempted Chinese base infiltrations all over the country. 

Who are these Chinese citizens attempting to gain access to our military bases? Do these “tourists” have valid visas? 

Thousands of Chinese nationals are crossing Biden’s wide-open southern border. Why?  Nearly 75,000 illegal aliens crossing the border this year have been flagged as national security risks. Does that figure include any of the Chinese nationals attempting to infiltrate our military bases?

Once again, border security is national security. Joe Biden’s blatant refusal to enforce the law and secure our border is killing Americans. That’s reason enough to impeach him!

Fighting For Freedom

As the new school year gets underway, there are new skirmishes erupting in the culture war every day. In this fight over the values we will pass on to our children and grandchildren, Moms for Liberty is a critical ally for patriotic, pro-family Americans.

The organization was founded by two mothers who both had shocking interactions with their local schools. Tina Descovich, one of the co-founders of Moms for Liberty, “got woke” after her son came home one day and showed her a project he got an A+ on. 

While her son was proud of his grade, Descovich was horrified: Her son made a “Wanted” poster for Christopher Columbus on charges of crimes against humanity. She spent weeks reviewing history books to see what had changed since she was in school, and eventually ran for the school board. 

This is a theme we’ve seen over and over again. The left is attacking anything and everything to do with the founding of America, the nation that has brought more liberty and prosperity to people around the world than any other nation. 

But the left hates the truth, and it really hates Moms for Liberty. The Southern Poverty Law Center smeared Moms for Liberty as an “anti-government extremist” organization. They have also received an avalanche of hate mail. Someone who refers to himself as “Satan” writes every week.

The left’s hysterical reaction to two moms who insist on accountability in the government-run schools is telling. A primary purpose of the left today is to instill in our children a sense of shame for being an American. Just think about that. No major world power is teaching its own children that their own nation is evil. It’s insanity!

But the American people are catching on, and Moms for Liberty is tapping into a growing sense of betrayal.  Satisfaction with the state of government-run education is at a record low, and the left’s insanity is a big reason why. 

2024 Update

The Wall Street Journal released its latest poll on the 2024 contest over the holiday weekend. It was the first poll the paper has conducted since the spring and since a string of four indictments were issued against former President Trump. The Journal conceded that Donald Trump is now dominating the race. Consider this excerpt:

“The new survey finds that what was once a two-man race for the nomination has collapsed into a lopsided contest in which Trump, for now, has no formidable challenger.  The former president is the top choice of 59% of GOP primary voters, up 11 percentage points since April. . .  Trump’s lead over his top rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, has nearly doubled since April to 46 percentage points.”

In a general election rematch, Trump and Biden were tied at 46%. With third party candidates factored in, Trump led Biden 40% to 39%.

I mention this because some GOP elites still cling to the myth that any candidate other than Donald Trump would be a stronger general election candidate against Biden. But there’s just no evidence for that.

Republican voters overwhelmingly believe that Trump is the strongest candidate against Biden, and the polls bear that out. According to the RealClearPolitics polling averages, Trump and Biden are tied, while DeSantis trails Biden by five points.
