Communist Lies

The origins of Covid-19 and the communist Chinese lies that helped it spread across the world are becoming increasingly obvious thanks to reporting from the Washington Post and Fox News

What's becoming clearer from multiple sources within the U.S. government and from independent reporting is that China's official story – that the virus came from a "wet market" – is a lie. According to the medical journal The Lancet, "the first covid-19 case in Wuhan had no connection to the seafood market."

It seems increasingly likely that the first true victim of the coronavirus worked in a research lab in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak. The best guess is that she was contaminated due to poor safety procedures at the lab. But, of course, the communist Chinese government denies this and the researcher has been scrubbed from the lab's website.

We do know that the disease spread rapidly and that China knew very quickly that it had a monster on its hands. Doctors who warned of the virus were arrested and punishedOn December 31st, Beijing started censoring social media, removing any references to Wuhan and viruses.

All the while, the World Health Organization aided China's cover-up by continuing to insist that there was no indication of human-to-human spread.

At President Trump's direction, the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Health and Human Services offered to send medical experts to Wuhan, but Beijing rejected our help, probably because they were hiding something.

On January 21st, with thousands of sick people and corpses starting to pile up, China finally admitted that there may be human-to-human transmission . . . a week after the WHO's declared that the virus wasn't contagious.

All of this is beyond outrageous! On this basis alone, every politician and journalist, as well as the Chamber of Commerce, should be standing with the president as we confront the Chinese communist regime and its recklessness.

Communist Incompetence

Even as Chinese officials were aware of the crisis, President Xi Jinping permitted millions of Chinese to take Lunar New Year vacations. The Lunar festivals began on January 10th and are "the largest human migration on the planet."

Untold numbers of Chinese flew to countries all over the world. Wuhan, with its population of 11 million, wasn't locked down until January 23rd.

There are only two options to explain this chain of events. Either Xi is a total idiot or he made a decision to ensure that the rest of the world was infected too. In other words, he wanted everyone to suffer if China was going to suffer.

How effective was this seeding around the world? British Researchers at the University of Southampton determined that if China had acted one to three weeks earlier, 66% to 95% of Covid-19 cases could have been prevented.

Progressive Ignorance

As reprehensible as this is, no one should be surprised. Have all the well-educated people in America already forgotten what communism is, what communism does

Far from lifting up the oppressed, communist regimes have murdered 100 million people in the past 100 years. As one journalist and expert on the Soviet Union put it, "The Bolshevik plague that began in Russia was the greatest catastrophe in human history."

Let's not forget what we're dealing with.

And when the Covid crisis erupted, Beijing's communist dictators did exactly what you would expect a powerful nation infected with Marxism to do.

Here is the most frightening thing of all, which almost seems like a form of insanity: People in our media, throughout the progressive left, at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in Hollywood, in academia and in the halls of Congress, seem to be siding with China.

We should be saying with one voice that what China and the WHO did is unforgiveable.  Whatever our policy disagreements, we should all be able to realize that the Beijing regime is sick to its core.

But that's not happening. Nancy Pelosi says that she will reverse Trump's "illegal" defunding of the WHO. Multiple progressive politicians are essentially saying things like, "Trump, not China, is responsible for this crisis."

And, sadly, much of the America media are continuing to ignore what may be one of the biggest stories in decades – communist China's cover-up of the Covid-19 crisis. That ought to scare all of us a lot more than the coronavirus itself.

Opening Soon

President Trump is briefing the nation's governors this afternoon, and will release the guidelines for reopening the country later today. As we noted yesterday, there will be a phased reopening. Roughly half the states have very few cases of coronavirus, and there is no reason they should be under severe lockdowns.

We will have more details tomorrow, but these guidelines come not a day too soon.  While America's talking heads sit safely in their studios telling us all why we must stay shut in, America's workers and entrepreneurs are getting restless.

Several thousand people demonstrated yesterday against the draconian measures imposed by Michigan's governor, and there were smaller demonstrations around the country, including one that disrupted an address by the governor of Kentucky.

These men and women can't wait another three or six weeks, much less six months, to get back to work. Their lives and livelihoods are being destroyed now. Another 5 million people lost their jobs last week – 22 million lost jobs in the past month.

This cannot continue.

By the way, the program meant to save small business jobs is now out of money because Nancy Pelosi refused to provide more funds. Meanwhile, her left-wing allies are giving away your hard-earned tax dollars to illegal immigrants. (Here and here.)
