Misplaced Priorities
The AI-generated picture of Donald Trump in a white robe with a red sash generated a lot of controversy yesterday. Critics claimed it portrayed Donald Trump as Jesus or the pope. The president said that is not what he intended. He saw it as an image of himself as a doctor healing a sick person.
Regardless of how one interprets the image, it got all kinds of headlines and attention in the media. It was on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. The critics saw it as a chance to undermine President Trump’s support with Christian voters.
On the day that controversy erupted, Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission held its final hearing at the Museum of the Bible. The president created this commission to study and issue a report on how to strengthen religious liberty in the United States. This is a much more important story than an AI-generated image.
But the Washington Post did not write one word about the final commission hearing. Nor did the Post cover any of the multiple previous hearings or testimony—except when one member engaged in antisemitic rhetoric and was kicked off the commission. That got the Post’s attention.
All the other work of the commission was ignored. And I can guarantee that when the commission issues its final report, most media will ignore it, too.
Two weeks ago, the Supreme Court handed down yet another pro-religious liberty ruling. This has become a fairly common occurrence thanks to the Trump majority on the high court, something Christians should be deeply grateful to the president for accomplishing.
It was also Trump’s majority that overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the fiction that abortion was a “right” found in our Constitution.
Last week, the Washington Post ran a story on its front page attacking the secretary of agriculture for saying, “He is risen,” because she was promoting Christianity.
Over the years, the political and media left have tolerated all sorts of blasphemy against God and Jesus. A crucifix submerged in a vat of urine is “art.” Transgender performers reenacting the Last Supper at the Olympics’ opening ceremony wasn’t blasphemy. It was “art.” A play depicting Jesus and his disciples as gay men wasn’t blasphemy. It was “art.”
I hope everyone can see through this. The Left will make a mountain out of a Trump meme, while it aggressively promotes anti-Christian bigotry.
The Left mocked Donald Trump for saying he believes God turned Trump’s head at the precise second necessary to avoid an assassin’s bullet. But if Trump had been murdered, many leftists would have held open celebrations and parties. (See next item.)
Carville’s “Kindness”
The Democrat Party claims to be the party of tolerance and kindness. Veteran Democrat political strategist James Carville once again showed they are a party that is fueled by hatred.
In a podcast last week with Never Trumper Rick Wilson, Carville said this about the president, “I want to be clear on this: I do not want that man to die. I want to watch him suffer. And I can’t watch a dead person suffer.”
AI Jesus
Christians worried about the president’s social media posts might want to redirect their concerns to a more disturbing development. A tech company is marketing an “AI Jesus” that you can speak to for $1.99 a minute.
Who programmed this AI Jesus? Did the programmers interpret the Bible as Billy Graham would or as James Talarico would? Is AI Jesus just fine with mutilating children in the name of transgender ideology? Or does it believe God created only two genders—male and female? Does it sound like Karl Marx? Does AI Jesus endorse open borders?
Far too many people turn to Google to self-diagnose their medical issues. As society becomes increasingly digital and social isolation grows, getting spiritual advice from a computer-created Jesus seems like something Christians really ought to be concerned about.
Persecuting Pro-Life Christians
Speaking of persecution and hate, four federal prosecutors were fired yesterday after a thorough investigation revealed that they persecuted pro-life activists during the Biden/Harris administration.
Working with pro-abortion groups, including the National Abortion Federation, Planned Parenthood and the Feminist Majority Foundation, Biden’s prosecutors collected vast amounts of social media information and essentially created dossiers on pro-life activists to use in selective prosecutions.
In the wake of the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade, hundreds of churches, crisis pregnancy centers and pro-life ministries were attacked by violent, unhinged leftists. Yet, 97% of Biden/Harris federal prosecutions under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act were against peaceful pro-life demonstrators.
One senior prosecutor in particular did everything he could to make jail sentences as long as possible by adding additional charges. He deliberately smeared pro-life activists as religious zealots in order to bias juries. He even tried to hold a nun in contempt of court for praying!
The Left worships at the shrine of child sacrifice. They celebrate a Senate candidate in Texas who urged Joe Biden to build abortion clinics in federal buildings in pro-life states.
Kamala Harris became the first sitting vice president to go to abortion mills (human slaughterhouses) to celebrate their work. She told the abortionists that they were some of the most important people in the country, demonstrating “true leadership.” Killing defenseless babies is not “leadership.” It’s evil.
I am also pleased to report that the Trump Justice Department has reached a seven-figure settlement with pro-life activist Mark Houck. You may recall that Houck was charged by the Biden administration after he defended his son from a violent pro-abortion supporter in Philadelphia.
Then-Attorney General Merrick Garland sent an FBI SWAT team to storm Houck’s home in a pre-dawn raid to arrest him, even though the father of seven had offered to voluntarily turn himself in. But Biden’s Department of Injustice chose to terrorize Houck’s family to send a message to other pro-life activists. Fortunately, a jury acquitted Houck of all charges.
Hero To Zero
Is something in the water in Minnesota?
Last month, Thomas Rosengren, a sixth-grade teacher in Grove City, Minnesota, was a finalist for Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year. He’s now out of a job. How did he go from being a hero to a zero?
It turns out that the social studies and earth science teacher, theater director and coach of the boys’ junior high baseball team is involved in bizarre “extracurricular activities” involving “XXX-rated BDSM performances.”
Maybe he was just inspired by Eric Swalwell!
Market Moves
After the conflict with Iran began on February 28th, the major business network, CNBC, began every morning broadcast with breathless reports about Donald Trump’s “inexplicable war” and how it was destroying the American economy. Every drop in the stock market had Trump’s name in front of it. Here’s a sample of recent CNBC headlines:
“Trump’s Threat To Hit Iran ‘Extremely Hard’ Jolts Global Stocks, Bonds And Oil”
“Asia Markets Mostly Fall As Trump Comments On Iran War Stoke Oil Volatility”
“Dow Closes Lower As Trump Comments Dampen Hopes For Iran War Ending”
As I’ve noted before, you can’t run a country on ups and downs of the stock market.
This afternoon, the S&P 500 Index closed at 6,967. On Friday, February 27th, the S&P closed at 6,878. It has erased all the losses since the start of the war. Yet nobody on CNBC is saying, “Well, the Trump rally continues.”
Robed Radicals
Democrat-appointed judges don’t even pretend to act like they are trying to follow the Constitution or figure out what the law actually says. That’s why they are called “activist judges.” And it’s a huge flaw in the legal system when Chief Justice John Roberts, the overseer of all the federal courts, does not order lower court judges to quit playing politics.
Case in point: Federal District Court Judge James Boasberg, nominated by Barack Obama.
As soon as Donald Trump took the oath of office for his second term, Boasberg set out to do everything he possibly could to stop the president from doing what the American people elected him to do on illegal immigration.
For the past year, Judge Boasberg has been tying the Trump administration in knots, conducting a baseless investigation into whether administration officials ignored his orders when they sent criminal illegal aliens from Venezuela to a jail in El Salvador. Boasberg has been threatening to hold administration officials in criminal contempt.
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia just ordered Judge Boasberg to immediately stop harassing the Trump administration. The majority opinion declared:
“The legal error at the heart of these criminal contempt proceedings demonstrates why further investigation by the district court is an abuse of discretion. Criminal contempt is available only for the violation of an order that is clear and specific. (Boasberg’s March 2025 order) did not clearly and specifically bar the government from transferring plaintiffs into Salvadoran custody.”
