Remembering Charlie Kirk
Today is the one-year anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk by accused killer Tyler Robinson. The evidence is overwhelming that he did it.
Hate-filled leftists celebrated when Charlie Kirk was murdered, and they are celebrating his death again today. Social media is full of people announcing their parties celebrating his death and making “death cakes” to mark Charlie Kirk’s murder one year ago. They are disgusting.
But these individuals know there is a war raging between good and evil in America. And even though many of us are still in denial, they intend for good to lose and for evil to win.
This week we also observe the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. It is a good time to rededicate ourselves to doing everything we can to defend faith, family and freedom and save our country from the radical hate-filled Left and radical Islam.
The Totalitarian Left
The Left despised Charlie Kirk because he was such an effective voice for Christian and conservative values on our college campuses. That’s why a trans-obsessed leftist silenced his voice forever.
Silencing dissenting opinions is a favorite tactic of the totalitarian Left. Our friends at the Family Policy Institute of Washington have informed us of a gross example of censorship taking place in Washington state.
Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, has all kinds of student clubs on campus, including radical environmental groups and pro-abortion groups. But when students tried to form a Republican club on campus, the Whitman College student senate unanimously rejected their application.
Conservative students are going to try again during this fall’s semester, and this time they have legal support from a free speech advocacy group. Hopefully, the college’s administration will ensure that the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of association is upheld this time.
Gill’s Great Idea
The next time you or a family member give a speech, I have a tip. Here’s my advice: Follow Rep. Brandon Gill’s example at the Republican midterm convention last night in Dallas, Texas.
Gill began his remarks with a “land acknowledgement.” But it wasn’t the typical leftist woke nonsense that mentions obscure indigenous tribes. Instead, Gill acknowledged that Texas is “the ancestral homeland of great American patriots, pioneers, and explorers” who fought and died to “build the greatest civilization ever known to man.”
Every time conservatives have the opportunity to give a speech, we ought to do a land acknowledgement that reaffirms the greatness of America.
So, if you’re in Tennessee, you could say, “Before I start, I want to acknowledge we’re in the state of Tennessee that produced Davy Crockett, Sgt. Alvin York and President Andrew Jackson.”
Any place you are in America, there are people and events that are being erased from the minds of our children and grandchildren that we can acknowledge.
The Democrats’ Affordability Con Game
This morning’s inflation report came in a tad better than expected, but inflation remains too high. Most of it is due to the price of oil and gasoline. Democrats are, of course, blaming President Trump for your “pain at the pump.”
But what exactly are Democrats and the “Green New Deal” weenies going to do about it? For at least 30 years, they have pushed a policy of intentionally raising oil prices. They want gasoline to cost more because they want to drive Americans out of our cars and trucks and into electric vehicles and mass transit.
Democrats opposed every effort to make America energy independent. Obama tried to bankrupt coal companies. Democrats also opposed clean natural gas and fracking. They refused to build refineries, which limits the supply of gasoline and diesel.
There is nothing in the Democrat Party platform that will lower gasoline prices. Those prices will decline when the Iran war is over.
What about the cost of living generally? Just 14 months ago, every single Democrat in the House and the Senate voted to raise taxes not just on the wealthy but on every hard-working American. They wanted Trump’s first term tax cuts to expire.
Democrats also want more regulations, but regulations always increase prices. Last year alone, the Trump administration got rid of 641 regulations.
Democrats have no ideas. All they have is demagoguery coupled with socialist schemes that will make the government bigger and the economy, as well as your paycheck, smaller.
Fetterman’s Bold Stand
There was an extraordinary moment last night at the GOP midterm convention. When Sen. David McCormick (R-PA) came out to deliver his speech, he was introduced via video by his Pennsylvania colleague, Democrat Sen. John Fetterman.
This wasn’t a merely polite introduction. It was a glowing one. Fetterman shared how he and McCormick work together to make life better for Pennsylvanians. He also praised President Trump! I can only imagine the screams that came out of liberal households. I think I heard a few in my neighborhood. (Although it could have been feral cats.)
Fetterman does vote overwhelmingly with his party. He ran as a Democrat and says he has no plans to switch parties. But he is defending fundamental ideas that Democrats once supported, including not demonizing your opponents and finding ways to work together for the good of the country. He also strongly supports the U.S.-Israel alliance.
He reflects John F. Kennedy’s famous line, “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” That line would be booed at a Democrat Party convention today.
Trump’s Big Promise
During his address to the GOP midterm convention last night, President Trump made a big promise to the American people. He said if Republicans keep their majorities in the House and the Senate after the November elections, he wants to give every adult citizen an “economic dividend” of $5,000.
Because it’s related to revenue, he doesn’t need 60 votes in the Senate to get it done. He needs only 51 votes under what is called “reconciliation.”
There are certain rules and the Republican philosophy will likely require “offsets” to be found. He would need to find some additional revenue to cover the cost. He could allocate tariff revenues over several years, and there are other potential sources one could imagine tapping into.
The Democrats’ Piker Problem
If we all just pay attention, who the Democrats have become will be clear to everyone, including the American Jewish community. (See next item.)
Hasan Piker has been invited to speak at the University of Texas later this month. He wasn’t invited by the radical group Students for Justice in Palestine or the KKK. He was invited by the university’s College Democrats.
In the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre of civilians in Israel, the University of Texas distinguished itself by cracking down on leftist student encampments and the harassment of Jewish students on their campus.
But now the UT College Democrats have invited someone who calls Jews “inbred,” praises Hamas, said America “deserves” 9/11 and said he wipes his a-- with the Constitution.
Don’t dismiss this as just a few left-wing students on one college campus. Piker was invited to speak at the College Democrats national convention this summer. Moreover, James Talarico and Gina Hinojosa, the Texas Democrat candidates for Senate and governor, refused to comment on the Piker invite.
How hard would it be to simply say, “We shouldn’t be inviting antisemites who hate Israel and America to Texas universities”? But Talarico and Hinojosa know their base, so they can’t say it.
Racist Socialists
Here’s another sign of the Democrats’ growing problems. Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett (D-Detroit) is sounding the alarm over the rampant racism in the Democrat Socialists of America (DSA).
Whitsett told Fox News that there is a “serious divide” between Black Americans and “the crazy socialist far-left.” She went on to say that White female DSA members are “more racist than the KKK.” (Race is a real problem for the DSA.)
God bless Rep. Whitsett. Mike Rogers and the Michigan Republican Party should get her out on the campaign trail!
Go Woke, Go Broke
The iconic sports brand Nike once ruled the shoe world. But then the leftists who ran the company forgot that at least half their customers were conservatives. They embraced Colin Kaepernick and canceled a Betsy Ross sneaker to release a Kaepernick sneaker.
They threw every extra dollar they could into the BLM movement, but nobody knows where that money went. When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Nike offered to pay the travel expenses for any female employee in a pro-life state to go to a pro-abortion state to kill her preborn baby. Then, having learned nothing from the Bud Lite disaster, Nike partnered with pretend woman Dylan Mulveaney.
Now, Nike is under fire for including transgender surgeries, even for children, in their employee health plans. Wow, what’s not to like!
When Nike started down the woke road, the company was valued at $277 billion. The value of Nike at yesterday’s stock market close was $57 billion. The company is being kicked out of the S&P 100.
Nike made other business-related mistakes, too. But maybe things wouldn’t be so bad today if Nike had focused more on profits instead of insulting at least half of America.
Remembering 9/11
It has been 25 years since the cowardly 9/11 attack on the United States by death-worshipping jihadists. In the years since, radical Islam has grown in the United States and Europe. They have made alliances with the socialist/Marxist Left that threaten the survival of Western civilization.
