Obama Does It Again Late yesterday afternoon, the Obama Administration announced that it had delayed Obamacare's employer mandate yet again. That is the second time in a year that the employer mandate has been delayed. Reports indicate that the delay came as a result of pressure from the business community to "peel back the law's … requirements." Think about that. The administration is providing breaks to big businesses that it refuses to give to individuals and families. It is also a tacit admission that Obamacare's mandates are job killers. |

Americans Losing Confidence In Obama? This week CNN released the results of a poll conducted after President Obama's State of the Union address. The public split in its overall reaction to the speech -- just 44% were "somewhat positive," while 38% were "somewhat negative." By a 3-to-1 margin, the public felt Obama's policies were "too liberal" (41%) versus "not liberal enough" (14%). Obamacare A Job Killer Conservative critics of Obamacare warned all along that the health care scheme was a job killer. Those arguments were brushed aside in 2010 when Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid rammed Obamacare through Congress on a party-line vote. Then in 2011 the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office issued a report indicating that Obamacare would reduce employment by 800,000 workers. |

Bill O'Reilly's interview with Barack Obama last night showed Obama is changing. Instead of blaming Bush for his troubles, Obama zeroed in on Fox News as the culprit. Ten minutes to interview the president of the United States is a tough task. O'Reilly conducted a tougher interview than Obama usually experiences. Nonetheless, I thought O'Reilly could have done a lot more. The Day After Last night the president delivered a prime-time speech to a divided nation. As we noted in yesterday's report, only 31% of Americans believe the country is better off now than in 2009, when Obama took office. The general consensus is that Obama's remarks amounted to "small ball" with little substance beyond his pledge to stretch the limits of his power with more executive actions.
