Carol's Mom Goes Home To The Lord Carol's mom, Jean Hoke, has passed away. She loved the Lord. We know she has gone on to her new home in Heaven, where a place filled with the glory of God, free of anxiety, pain and suffering, has been lovingly prepared for her. Over her 91 years, Jean was a loving wife and mother. Like so many of the "Greatest Generation," she was a patriot, a conservative and a bold defender of her faith. We will miss her terribly, but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again. |

Grimm Gone Late yesterday evening, Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY) announced that he would resign from Congress effective January 5th -- one day before the new Congress formally meets. Grimm's resignation was necessitated by last week's guilty plea on charges of tax evasion, which could send him to jail for three years. First elected in 2010, Grimm has been dogged by allegations of campaign finance violations since January 2012. The Justice Department has been investigating Grimm for two years. |

Saturday, Cuban President Raul Castro delivered an hour-long victory speech before the Cuban National Assembly. The communist spies released by Obama were given a hero's welcome. A gloating Castro declared, "Now we've really won the war." |

Obama Coddles Castro Today at the White House, amid great fanfare, President Obama announced a new policy toward Cuba. But it is nothing more than the same old left-wing appeasement. Obama declared that America's foreign policy toward Cuba -- instituted by John F. Kennedy and carried out by subsequent Democratic and Republican administrations -- was "outdated." The president said, "We cannot keep doing the same thing and expect a different result." |
